MEPS (MAS Electronic Payment System)
This online SGD interbank payment and settlement system allows instantaneous and irrevocable transfer of funds and securities. This service is the way to send SGD funds in Singapore, and is available at all CIMB Bank branches in Singapore.
Demand drafts
This is a written order we issue to our overseas correspondents to pay a stated amount in foreign currency or SGD to a named beneficiary. We or our overseas agent will pay your beneficiary when your beneficiary’s bank has deposited and cleared the demand draft. Sending and receiving funds via demand drafts is slower than with a telegraphic transfer, but the associated charges are lesser. You can send money in various currencies to most parts of the world.
Foreign bills for collection
We can clear foreign currency and SGD cheques and demand drafts, to be paid outside and within Singapore. Simply deposit your cheques and we will credit the funds to your account at the prevailing rate of exchange when we receive the funds from the drawn-on bank. The clearing period depends on the clearing regulations of the country on which the cheque is drawn.
